Howdy, I'm Austin. Welcome to my life.

Grand Canyon Pee

I traded in the 9 to 5 gig to find something better. Here's how it happened...

While working as the Operations Director for a small non-profit in Tucson Arizona, I came across an article outlining a man's journey along the Pacific Crest Trail. I'd never heard of the trail or thru hiking, but was instantly fascinated by the notion of hiking such a tremendous distance.

One thing led to another, and within a few months I'd bought all my gear, cashed out my savings, downsized my belongings and quit my job.

Looking back, my only regret is waiting as long as I did to take the plunge. Life's too short not to dig what you do!

**UPDATE**

In May of 2019 I moved to Steamboat Springs, CO to work a summer position for the Forest Service. A year later I've found I've fallen in love with the small mountain community. With its easy access to all things outdoors and friendly residents, what's not to love! Life is good!

I'm so thankful I took the risk to pursue something different rather than carry on with my safe and monotonous life in Tucson. Although there were some bumps along the way, I couldn't be more pleased with where I ended up!

Cheers!
