Bushcamp to Bushcamp
18.3 miles
Mile 1289.5
From where I’d camped it was about an hours walk to Boyle Campground, where I crossed Highway 7 to rejoin the trail along the Boyle River.
The trail followed the river for a time, eventually turning away to begin ascending through forest.
I passed a Canadian hiker naked Eric resting near a stream, who coincidentally I’d met on the PCT last year. I’d seen him in St. Arnaud five days earlier, and had learned he’d been experiencing many of the same symptoms I had when sick with giardia. I’d hooked him up with some of the antibiotics I had taken to rid myself of the illness, so was pleased to learn he was feeling much better.
Pushing on, I passed a hut without stopping, making my way through grassland for two more hours before making camp on a grassy knoll.
Cheers!
This is my third attempt to enter this pathetic joke – is there some internal auto-editing on this web-site?
Here goes: (again)
Why don’t you donate your ripped shorts to Naked Eric.
Even though they have a hole in them, he won’t mind….
Just a thought.
John
Haha yup, my site flagged the post for some reason. The joke was worth the three attempts!
Tell Eric “good riddance”! Glad I got a twofer.
Haha you saved the day once again!
