AZT Day 13 – Reavis Canyon

Copper Mountain Motel to Bushcamp

22.4 miles (4 off trail miles)

Mile 318.9

I slept in until nearly 9:00 AM. It was amazing. The motel was pretty sketchy, but at least their beds were comfy as hell. Around 10:00 AM I headed out, swinging by Los Hermanos for a breakfast burrito before making the 4 mile road walk back to the trail. I just didn’t feel like hitching this morning.

Back on trail, I made my way through desert hills towards the Superstitions.

The trail followed a creek up Reavis Canyon, until breaking off to begin a 2500 ft ascent into the mountains.

From the top I could see the town of Superior and its surrounding mountain ranges.

A short while later I made camp near the Rogers Trough trailhead. Tomorrow morning I’m meeting my buddies Alex (Diva, for those who followed my PCT journey), Mikey and Danny at the trailhead. We’ll do an easy day up to Reavis Ranch to camp. Should be fun!

Cheers!
