PCT Day 167

Bushcamp to Bushcamp

36.2 miles

Sobo mile 1228.2

Total mileage 3880.8

I woke up pleased to find my stomach pains of yesterday had subsided. By 5 I was working my way up the trail in the dark.

I was treated to an excellent sunrise as I made my way along a ridge line.

The flat trail was a nice change from the roller coaster of the Russian, Marble Mountain and Trinity Alps Wildernesses I’d just passed through to the north. The next few days would be relatively easy as I make my way around Burney and Old Station.

Around noon while taking a break I met the first and last person I’d see all day. It was nice chatting with another hiker for a bit before pushing on.

The remainder of my day was spent wandering through woodlands. Twice my peace was interrupted by loud logging trucks working near the trail, something I never enjoy seeing.

Just past 6 I arrived at Rock Creek, where I decided to camp for the evening. Spikes and I had camped at the same location on our journey north. After filling my bottles in the creek, I pitched my tent and crawled inside to enjoy a dinner of a Knorrs Mexican style rice side with crushed Fritos. Yum.

Cheers!
