PCT Day 200

Wrightwood to Cajon Pass

23.5 miles (2.7 off trail miles)

Sobo mile 2310.7

Total mileage 4963.3

By 6am Sue had dropped me off at the base of Acorn Trail to begin the 2.7 mile ascent up to the PCT. An hour later I’d finished my only climb for the day and began the 20 mile descent down to the desert floor.

I spent the next couple hours weaving through pines as I slowly made my way down and out of the forest.

Before long I found myself walking along a windswept ridge line with sweeping views of the desert hills below.

I made excellent time on the easy downhill trail, and found myself checking in at the Best Western at Cajon Pass by 1pm. Clearly I could have gone further, but I had more important things than hiking planned for the afternoon. Paige was going to swing by on her way up to Pasadena, so I was pretty jammed to see her!

Once I’d checked into my room, I ran across the street to grab some grub at Subway. Back in my room I showered and laundered my clothes before hopping into bed for a quick nap.

A few hours later Paige arrived, and we spent the rest of the evening enjoying each others company.

Cheers!
