By 7am I was making my way over the busy intersection at Cajon Pass to rejoin the PCT. Fueled by the continental breakfast and a good nights sleep in a bed, I was feeling prime.
Back on trail I made my way through scrubby desert over the next few hours.
I passed by Silverwood Lake, where I took a short break to top of my water before continuing.
From there the trail wove along a hilly ridge line before diving into Deep Creek Canyon.
It was a Saturday night, so when I passed by Deep Creek Hot Springs I just kept walking. I’d made the mistake of stopping there on my way north, and things got weird.
Finally I found a sandbar near the creek to call home for the night. I enjoyed the Subway sandwich I’d packed out on the bank of the creek before calling it.
