Bridgeport Zero Day

Mile 1016.9
Woke up feeling like a hundred bucks! Town food and a solid nights sleep did the trick. After showering, Spikes and I grabbed some coffee at the continental breakfast to take back to the room, and ate the cookies and pressed juice our hitch had given us the day before for breakfast.
Around 10 we headed down the street to grab some deli sandwiches to eat later at the local hot springs. On the way we swung by Snap & Crackle candy shop to salivate over the delicious chocolates in stock.
The smoked turkey sandwiches we ordered looked fantastic…it was tough not eating them on the spot! Before heading out of town we stopped by the Jelly Cone next door to grab a chocolate dipped ice cream cone for the 2 mile walk.
Before long we’d arrived at the hot springs!
We hung out in the toasty pools for a couple of hours, eating our subs while chatting up the other people there. It felt great soaking my legs in the warm water.
On the way back we had a good view of the tiny town of Bridgeport.
When we were back in town we stopped by the general store to grab some ice cream and beer, before heading back to the candy shop to pickup some chocolates.
While crossing the street my buddy Adam, the local I’d met the day before, pulled up in his truck and invited us over for a beer! We never turn down local hospitality, so we cruised over to hangout for a bit.
We ended up staying until dinner time, at which point we said our goodbyes before heading to Burger Barn to grab sone dinner to take back to our motel.
I got a California burrito, fried pickles and a Nutella shake. It was so dang delicious!!!
Food coma in full effect, we spent the remainder of the evening watching the new episode of Westworld.
P.s. Shout out to Roger and Aaron for their generous donation to my adventure! Thanks guys, y’all rock!
P.p.s. Heading back onto the trail today! We should be in Tahoe by Friday, so expect the posts on that section around then.
Cheers!
