Te Araroa – Day 28

Bulls to Guest Room

33.2 miles

Mile 916.3

Shortly after leaving Bulls it began to rain as I picked up where I’d left off from yesterday’s road walk.

Around noon I passed through the town of Feilding, awarded “New Zealand’s Most Beautiful Town”. Maybe it was the rain, but it didn’t seem that special to me…

Just past 3:00 PM I finally ditched the road for a pleasant river path.

Once I crossed over the river on a bridge the route led me through a forest park.

Upon exiting the park I joined a road once again. After only a few minutes a car stopped beside me and the driver hopped out and asked if I’d like a bed for the night!…uhh duh!

I was saved from a wet night in the rain by a lovely couple named Paul and Jess. They were incredibly kind, offering me their guest room, a shower and a spectacular salad made from all sorts of tasty veggies from their garden.

Cheers!
