PCT Day 124

Bushcamp to Bushcamp

36.2 miles

Mile 2611.4

We woke up a bit before 4, planning an earlier start than usual to allow us extra time to hike the big miles. Luckily, both our stomachs felt back to normal, so we set out around 4:30.

Our first climb of the day was lit only by the light of our head torches. We reached the top just in time to admire an epic sunrise.

The remainder of the morning was spent hiking up and down a series of mountains before reaching an alpine lake.

From the lake I entered into Glacier Peak Wilderness, where the trail snaked it’s way along mountain ridges, offering sweeping views of grass covered mountainsides framed by jagged glacier pocked peaks.

The views kept getting better…

Upon reaching Reds Pass, the trail began a gentle descent into an old growth forest, where I spent my final mile hop scotching through a swampy trail.

A quarter past 5 I reached our campground for the evening. While pitching my tent Spikes arrived, and together we crushed some dinner before going to bed.

Cheers!
